Day 1 of the longest driving weekend of our summer trip! We decided to cut today a bit short and stop at the Butte KOA Journey in Butte, MT. The campground itself is really nothing more than some gravel lots on the outskirts of Butte. It’s totally fine for overnight stays, but we don’t believe it is destination worthy. The park and facilities are clean, it is just not within walking/biking distance of anything touristy in Butte. There are views of downtown, and you get the pleasure of being watched over by “Our Lady of the Rockies“; a 90-foot statue built in the likeness of Mary, the mother of Jesus, that sits atop the Continental Divide overlooking Butte, Montana.
